Mr. Dmitry Mariyasin is Deputy Executive Secretary of UNECE. In this role, he supports the Commission’s strategic work on regional cooperation, economic resilience, sustainable connectivity, and support to countries in transition, including through partnerships with the private sector and strategic foresight, and leading UNECE’s technical cooperation work. Over the past two years, he has also led UNECE’s work on sustainable transport, overseeing efforts related to inland transport governance, regulatory cooperation, and the transition to low-emission, future-ready mobility systems. Before joining UNECE, Dmitry held several senior positions within the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), including Resident Representative in Armenia. His work focused on institutional development, public policy, governance, and partnerships for sustainable development and resilience. Dmitry holds a PhD in Economics from Moscow State University and an MPA from New York University’s Wagner Graduate School of Public Service.
