Programme: GPF meets Vienna

GPF26

Amid increasing volatility in a rapidly changing world, the Geneva Peace Forum Meets Vienna will offer a space to reflect on common challenges and opportunities, recognizing the inherent complementarity between two of the world’s oldest and most prominent multilateral hubs. On the one hand, Geneva, a birthplace of modern multilateralism, host to the highest concentration of international organizations, non-governmental organizations, and experts working on peace, security, disarmament, and a host of related topics. On the other hand, Vienna, a city of diplomacy, and center of expertise on a wide range of security-related issues, most notably home to the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe, the United Nations Office at Vienna, and several other international organizations, as well as a wide range of civil society actors.

Focused on practical contemporary issues, but with an eye to the future, a combination of panel discussions, roundtables, and networking opportunities will aim to strengthen existing synergies, help identify new ones, and map out concrete ways to advance more collaborative, integrated, and effective strategies to achieve Peace and Security, in Europe and beyond.
