Franz Perrez is Switzerland’s Legal Advisor and Head of the Directorate of International Law at the Swiss Federal Department of Foreign Affairs. From 2010 to 2023, he was Switzerland’s Ambassador for the Environment and Head of International Affairs at the Federal Office for the Environment, leading the Swiss delegations in climate change, biodiversity, chemicals and waste, and sustainable development. Previously, he held positions at SECO and the WTO. He is teaching international environmental law at the University of Bern since 2008.
