Anny T. Modi

Anny T. Modi is the Executive Director of Afia Mama ASBL and a renowned Congolese feminist leader, with over 15 years of dedicated experience advancing the Women, Peace and Security agenda. She serves as the Global Co-Lead of the Women, Peace and Security Pillar of the African Women Leaders Network (AWLN), is a member of the AWLN Global Steering Committee, and participates in the Global Women, Peace and Security Focal Points Network. Ms. Modi has twice briefed the United Nations Security Council and regularly contributes to international policy discussions on peacebuilding, conflict-related sexual violence, and women's leadership. She has received prestigious recognitions including the 2026 Médaille Marianne of the French Senate and the 2023 Franco-German Prize for Human Rights and the Rule of Law, honoring her advocacy for survivors' rights, peace, justice, and reparations.
